About Me

I have come into 2012 with a strong desire to be more healthy and reduce my weight to something more acceptable for a man of my age and height. On the 1st of Jan 2012 at the age of 45 and height of 6ft 2in, I weighed in at 18st 2lbs (that's 256 lbs or 116kg). I have a pretty large frame and have always been able to carry a bit of excess baggage but I think its time to do something about it for my health and energy levels more than anything else. The experts suggest that for a man of my height and age I should be about 13.5 st but I have set myself a target of 15 st (210lbs or 95kg) - thats a planned loss of around 3 st (46lbs or 20kg) This BLOG is a record of my attempt to achieve this goal and I have made it public to help keep me motivated and on track. If you have any comments, thoughts or ideas and suggestions please feel free to leave me a message..

Post 28 - Eight weeks on MonaVie

So what does 8 weeks actually look like?

After 8 weeks on the MonaVie weight management program I have done pictures and measurements to see just how things have changed and this is what it actually looks like!

Before and After photos

These photos reflect a total weight loss of 35 lbs.

I started out on the 1st of Jan 2012 weighing 18st 2lbs and today, 8 weeks later I weigh 15st 9 lbs (thats a total loss of 35lbs or 15.87kg)

....and here's the proof on the scales;

.... and in actual measurements I have lost a few inches too!

I measured myself when I started and again today

Start ...v...... 8 weeks
Neck 17.5 16
Chest 48.5 42
Waist 44.5 40

Total loss = 11.5 inches

I will be coming off the MonaVie system next week (I had 2 months worth of the product on the trial and I have about enough for 1 week left).

I will then go onto a sensible balanced diet plan in conjunction with exercise and over the next couple of months I would like to steadily lose another stone to reach my 14st 7lb target weight.

I will continue to keep this blog as a record of how things go but I expect things to slow down considerably and I am aiming for 1-2 lbs per week whilst working a little harder in the gym to build a bit of lean muscle and try and move that difficult belly and love handle areas around my waist as well as trying to flatten the man boobs!

I would like to thank Caroline Sandiford for getting me on the trial - it has given me the kick start I needed to get things going this year and if you are serious about moving some weight you could do a lot worse than giving MonaVie a try when it is released in the UK in March/April 2012.
